Indomina Releasing grabs rights to Toronto fest thriller ?Wasted on the Young? (exclusive)

Indomina Releasing has acquired all North American rights to Ben C. Lucas?s ?Wasted on the Young? following its international premiere at the Toronto film festival last month.
Oliver Ackland (?The Proposition?), Adelaide Clemens (?X-Men Origins: Wolverine?) and Alex Russell (?Wheeler Boys?) star in the story of a high school swim captain and campus drug dealer (Russell) who seeks revenge when a sophomore (Clemens) rejects his advances in favor of his stepbrother (Ackland). An incident at a party then sets off a dramatic chain of events.
Lucas, a first-time filmmaker who just signed with CAA, wrote and directed the film. Janelle Landers and Aidan O?Bryan of WBMC produced the film in Australia.
? ?Wasted on the Young? is a gripping film that pushes the genre of teen thrillers,? Indomina Group CEO Jasbinder Singh Mann said. ?The film introduces audiences to a whole new group of up-and-coming talent from Australia.?
Indomina execs Rob Williams and Toby Midgen negotiated the deal with Fortissimo senior vp Winnie Lau on behalf of the filmmakers. Paramount acquired international distribution rights to the film.
Based in Los Angeles and the Dominican Republic, Indomina also recently picked up rights to ?Griff the Invisible,? ?True Legend? and ?Fire of Conscience.?
