Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver to star in ?Buried? director?s next project

?Buried? director Rodrigo Corts has dug up his next project.
Robert De Niro and Sigourney Weaver are attached to star in ?Red Lights,? a psychological thriller that Corts wrote and will produce. ?Buried? producer Adrian Guerra will produce ?Red Lights? as well via his Barcelona-based Versus Entertainment.
?Red Lights? tells the story of a psychologist (Weaver) whose study of paranormal activity leads her to a famous psychic (De Niro) and some astounding revelations. The film will begin principal photography in February in Spain.

UTA?s Independent Film Group, which arranged financing and helped to package the film, reps domestic rights. Parlay Films has acquired international rights to the film, excluding Spain and South Korea. Parlay topper Lisa Wilson will serve as an executive producer on the project, which the company will shop at AFM next month.
Wilson negotiated on behalf of Parlay, and Rena Ronson and Jim Meenaghan of UTA?s Independent Film Group on behalf of the filmmakers.
Newly formed production and finance company CSe Entertainment, run by Cindy Cowan and Soo Mi Kim, will co-finance the film in association with Seoul-based Blue Storm Prods. CSe?s Cowan and Blue Storm?s Y.K. Bae will also serve as executive producers.
The UTA-repped Corts unveiled ?Buried? at the Sundance Film Festival in January, when Lionsgate picked it up for distribution last month.
Repped by CAA and Rick Yorn, De Niro most recently starred in ?Stone? and ?Machete.? He will next appear in the Universal comedy ?Little Fockers? in December and the Universal thriller ?The Dark Fields? in March.
The UTA-repped Weaver most recently starred in ?You Again? and ?Avatar.? She next stars in the Universal comedy ?Paul? in March and the Lionsgate thriller ?Abduction.?
