Mark Duplass, Dianne Wiest, Sam Shepard join ?Darling Companion? (exclusive)

Mark Duplass has been cast in Lawrence Kasdan?s newest project, ?Darling Companion.? Dianne Wiest and Sam Shepard have also nabbed roles.
The three actors join Diane Keaton, Kevin Kline, Richard Jenkins and Elizabeth Moss in the story of what happens when a man loses his wife?s beloved dog after a wedding in the Rockies and they enlist the remaining guests to go in search of it.

Elizabeth Redleaf of Werc Werk Works and Anthony Bregman of Likely Story are producing with Kasdan, who wrote the script with wife Meg Kasdan and will direct. Christine Walker, Meg Kasdan and John Kelly will serve as executive producers.
Shooting is scheduled to start in late September in Utah.
Duplass recently appeared in ?Greenberg,? ?Hannah Takes the Stairs? and ?Humpday.? He also co-wrote ?The Puffy Chair? and co-wrote and directed ?Baghead? and ?Cyrus? with his brother Jay. He has ?Jeff Who Lives at Home? in production at Paramount, and he stars on the FX series ?The League.?
Wiest recently appeared in ?Synecdoche, New York,? ?Passengers? and ?Rabbit Hole,? which just had its premiere at the Toronto film festival. She will next appear in the Fox 2000 comedy ?The Big Year.?
Shepard most recently appeared in ?Fair Game,? ?Brothers? and ?Felon.? Next month, he will appear in IFC Films? ?Inhale,? opposite Dermot Mulroney and Diane Kruger.
